All private tours are on foot with some public transport connections unless you specifically request to be chauffeured around ancient Rome in an MPV or limousine. The Eternal City was not built for the motor car, so it is impossible to appreciate what the city has to offer from a moving vehicle. Walking in Rome, at least part of the way, is something we recommend every time over sitting in traffic, which can be time consuming.
Disabled guests are very welcome on our tours. Wheelchairs were made for the marble floors of St. Peter's Basilica, ergo access is generally very good with ramps and assistance where needed. There are four different wheelchair routes which traverse all 17 kilometres of the Vatican Museums, however, at the last count, only two of these routes are in use every day while the other two are opened whenever the museum staff see fit. The two usable routes lead to the Sistine Chapel and Raphael Rooms. For information relating to disabled and wheelchair access in the Forum, Colosseum, Borghese Gallery and Rome in general, contact us and we'll reply same day. |
