We do not have designated meeting points at any of the tourist hotspots, so you will not be exposed to the mayhem that goes on there every day, 365 days a year. A case in point is the Colosseum. Modern combat resumes each morning between rival Tour Companies, directly opposite and/or within the general area of the ancient Flavian Amphitheatre. They invariably congregate within yards of each other to compete head on for lucrative passing trade, managing to convince unwary tourists that to be corralled from A to B and back again then billed for the privilege is in some way beneficial.
In answer to the question and at the other end of the spectrum, your Eternal Tours Rome Guide will meet you at your hotel. Our Tours do not have official start times per se, but we do recommend hours of day which will more or less avoid big crowds: Sacred Vatican (13:30, Mon-Sat), Imperial Forum (08:30, Mon-Sun), Villa Borghese (11:00, Tues-Sun). You can always specify times to suit within the opening and closing hours of each site. Our Historic Centre Walk is most rewarding in the early evening. |
